Eye Candy: Cluster Setup

A Blue Box Group Cluster of Servers
Revel in its glory!

Many of our customers have been inquiring to see some pictures of a few of the larger clusters we’ve setup. We figured it was about time we followed through with our promises and posted something up. To the right is a picture of one of our racks. This particular rack houses clusters for five different websites. These clusters support 120 Meg bandwidth spikes for these particular sites.

At the top of the rack behind the blanking panels, you’ll find a pair of Cisco Gigabit switches acting as distribution for this cluster. Below that are the servers themselves. This rack holds application, NFS, Memcache and database servers for each of the sites. At the bottom of the rack, you’ll see a blade chassis that we’ve been testing for future deployments.

We’re excited to be working on some additional clustering technologies that will make this level of power available to every one. Stay tuned!

Be sure to check out a couple of the sites we host, if only to see the scale of sites we can work with:
