Emergency Switch Updates, Saturday Nov 24th

Posted by Blue Box Group on Thu Nov 22 20:07:00 UTC 2007

At 12pm Pacific on Monday November 26th, we will be making an emergency software upgrade to our switching network to prevent random reboots we’ve been seeing over the last 4 weeks. This will result in an outage lasting no more than 15 minutes. We will keep this page updated with more information during the event.

Update 6:55am Saturday - This issue has been growing in severity prompting us to move up the window in which we will be upgrading this software. We will be making the change tonight after midnight. We appologize for not providing our normal amount of notice, but we fear that if we continue to wait, this issue will ultimately prove to be too much of a nuisance.

Update 12:28am Sunday - We are initiating the upgrades on the first switch now.

Update 12:33am Sunday - The first switch has been successfully updated. We are proceeding with the remaining switches.

Update 12:40am Sunday - All remaining switches have been successfully updated. All services are back online and functioning normally. We are making one final config update and we will post when that is complete.

Update 12:47 Sunday - All configuration changes are now complete.

Update 12:58 Sunday - We had one minor configuration issue regarding vlan configs across the switches that is now resolved. All machines are operating normally.
