Network Connection Problems

This morning from approx. 7:30am to 9:30am pacific, a small subset of our customers experienced a routing issue caused by a problem with our of our upstream providers. We’ve heard and were able to verify 2 reports of this issue this morning. We were able to route around this problem and are presently in contact with that upstream to permanently resolve this in the future.

CNN Alert Spam

As many of you have probably seen, there is presently a huge influx of CNN Alert titled spam being sent around. We’ve had a number of complaints from customers, and have setup specific server rules to block those messages. Based on the rate of hits to this filter, this should help our customers clear out a considerably portion of spam in their inbox. If you notice any email you appear to be missing that would be from CNN, please do let us know by opening a support ticket.

box4 Instability

Legacy shared hosting server box4 is presently experiencing instability due to the WebDNA software. We are investigating the issue and hope to have it resolved within the next 30 minutes.

vsh24 experiencing hardware problems

I appears one of our virtual server hosts is experiencing hardware issues. We’re in the process of replacing hardware on it right now. The affected VPSes on this host are:

  • vs111
  • vs122
  • vs141
  • vs183
  • vs188
  • vs189
  • vs211
  • vs212
  • vs213
  • vs215
  • vs241
  • vs242
  • vs243

We’re working as quickly as possible to get these VPSes back up and running.

12:25 Update

Replacing what we thought was the failed piece of hardware did not bring vsh24 back to life, so we’re now in the process of getting the above VPSes up and running on a different virtual server host. ETA on having everything back up and running again is 30 minutes.

Most of the VPSes are up and running again; We’re in the process of bringing up those services which didn’t start automatically on boot.
