On 12/11/2008 at 1am, our network experienced a routing reconvergence as the result of a fiber issue on one of our carriers back bone. Our network remained accessible during the event, but certain customers may have experience slowness if they were connecting through those uplinks. We are in communication with the carrier collecting more details and will update this should more information become available.

Due to adverse weather conditions in Washington today, phone support will be limited. Technicians will still be available, and if you leave a voicemail or open a support ticket, we will respond to it in a timely fashion.

The Pacific Northwest continues to be blasted with bad weather. We have staff in the office today, but it’s a small crew. The remainder of our staff are working from home. Please continue to try to use online support system for support inquiries.

We’re presently experiencing an outage with mail.blueboxgrid.com. We expect to have services restored in 5-10 minutes.
Update 11:46am - Mail services have been restored. No mail was lost. There was a networking issued that prevented the machine from talking to the network during that time.

On December 29th starting after 10pm, we will be upgrading our two core routers. Because of the meshed design of our network, there will be no outage, but there will be BGP routing updates that may cause dropped packets or periods of instability for 3-5 minutes as the BGP routes reconverge. If you noticed any other problems during this time, please give us a call and use our urgent voicemail system.
Update 12:55pm - This upgrade has been completed with no outage.

The Pacific Northwest continues to be plagued by weather problems with another 5-8” of snow accumulating overnight. While most of our staff are fortunate enough to own four wheel or all wheel drive vehicles, we’ve found a disturbing trend of rather untalented snow drivers on the road making getting to the office a bit treacherous. We’re continuing to run on a skeleton staff with the rest of our agents working from home offices, so if you get our voice mail, please don’t hesitate to leave a message and we will get right back to you. We’re not how long this weather will continue, but it sounds like we may not get a break until the new year.

An access layer switch in one of our racks powered off unexpectedly today and will not power back on. We are in the process of replacing it with a spare switch which should be complete within 20 minutes. This is presently affecting 2 customers who we will be notifying directly momentarily.
Update 12:23 - As of 12:23, all ports on the dead switch have been moved to a replacement switch. We have contacted both affected customers and will schedule a time to move them back to a replacement gig-e switch at an appropriate time.
