One of our upstream network providers has informed us that they will be performing emergency maintenance on one of their long-haul circuits tonight starting at 1:00am PST (6 Mar 2009, 9:00 UTC). Maintenance should be completed no later than 3:00am (11:00 UTC). Note that customers may experience brief delays and some sub-optimal routing as BGP paths reconverge when the equipment is brought back online. No outage is expected as a result of this work.

The UPS System Maintenance that was originally planned for March 5th has been rescheduled for March 19th. We will continue to track that issue in its original thread:

On March 12, 2009 starting at 11:00pm (March 13, 06:00 UTC) we will be performing network maintenance at both our primary and secondary facilities. During this event we will:
- Upgrade router cr01.tkwl02 at our secondary facility
- Re-integrate our redundant F5 BIG-IP LTM into our load balancer pool. (F5 has given us a clean bill of health on our hardware and configuration there.)
- Do various other non-customer-affecting tasks
During the router upgrade at our secondary facility, we will be shutting down our BGP session with Internap. During this upgrade, machines at the secondary facility will be offline (the only customer machines at this facility presently are backup servers). Except for a brief delay due to BGP reconvergence, no public-facing customer services should be affected at all throughout the course of this maintenance.

For customers who have requested it, we now have a tertiary nameserver online. ns3.blueboxgrid.com is located in Virginia and is active with all records from our Box Panel DNS system. To make use of this new redundancy, you’ll need to updated your domains where they are registered and add ns3.blueboxgrid.com into the list of your servers on your account. If you need assistance, please do let us know.

On March 24, 2009 starting at 11:00pm (March 25, 06:00 UTC) we will be performing network maintenance at both our primary facility. During this event we will:
- Install an additional highly-available pair of F5 load balancers.
- Preform software maintenance on cr02.tkwl01 router.
Except for a brief delay as routers change high availability roles, no customer services should be affected at all throughout the course of this maintenance.
