Upstream Network Event
Posted by Blue Box Group on Thu Mar 18 18:34:00 UTC 2010
At Thu Mar 18 18:17:02 PDT 2010, we experienced issue with one of the fiber cross connects that connects us to one of our IP providers. Our network experienced a BGP recovergence having traffic failover to our redundant connections. Customers have seen brief occurrence of packet loss as routes changed. At this time, all traffic is flowing normally.
We are investigating the issue with the fiber and will update this page with more information when available.
Update: Fri Mar 19 01:37:59 UTC 2010 - We’ve isolated the issue to a broken patch within one of the data center buildings. We’re working with our data center provider to isolate and repair the patch. Again, this is not causing any outage of service. This cross connect simply links our backup data center with the primary.
Update: Fri Mar 19 04:57:06 UTC 2010 - The damaged fiber has been repaired and the cross connect is functional again. There should be no further issues expected as a result of this event.
Thanks
